Vietnam War
Description
US involvement in Vietnam was one of the longest American armed conflicts to date rivaled only by the current ongoing operations in Afghanistan. US involvement in Vietnam went from 1945-1975 and, in that time, we invested almost $1 billion USD (adjusted for inflation) to combat operations, lost more than 68,000 soldiers, saw the creation of the live “TV War” brought from the battlefield straight into America’s living room, and saw a veteran backlash and reconciliation movement in society never before seen in our nation’s history.
It was a turbulent and unique time.
With all the history we’ve studied in the American involvement in Vietnam there are many lessons to be learned, far too many to mention in an 8-week course. Your assignment is to list one big lesson learned or not learned from the War in Vietnam. Specify what the lesson is in great detail, use historical examples to back up your position, and conclude how we can apply this lesson moving forward.
There is no standard length for an acceptable submission but an “A” paper needs to meet the following criteria.
Effectively establish what your thesis statement is and outline where the submission will go.
Consistently call back to the original thesis statement to keep the submission grounded.
Use numerous historical examples to back up any theorizing.
Cite EVERY source.
Avoid generalizing or unnecessary filler.
Contains minimal to zero grammatical errors.
Be sure to proof-read your work and space out your paragraphs so they’re easy to read and follow.
