You are also free to choose the event and stakeholder group that best aligns with your major. So, while sport and event management students will focus on marketing and promoting the event as a whole and can cater to a range of stakeholders, tourism and hospitality students might wish to create a MarCom plan for the event that targets intrastate, interstate or even international visitors or they might even consider the hospitality (both public and corporate) opportunities the event could deliver.
Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club is interested in hosting the 2022 SunSmart WA Surf Life Saving Championships – Seniors and Nippers. To determine the feasibility of hosting either of these events, MSLSC has employed you to prepare a MarCom plan for ONE of these events.
As a team, decide which event you will focus on Seniors or Nippers. Research Mullaloo SLSC and the event in detail and develop a realistic MarCom plan. This plan needs to be presented as a professional industry report and draw on the marketing and communications theory discussed in the unit and reference both academic literature and industry sources. An overview of the sections to include in the report is provided below.
