Hallmarks of Cancer – Resisting cell death (apoptosis)
Description
Choose any one of the Hanahan and Weinberg “Hallmarks of Cancer” as a title for your essay. Present a well-researched essay (at least 10 references as a guideline, but may be up to 50) considering the cancer biology underpinning your chosen Hallmark.
With a limit of 2500 words (including Abstract, but excluding title, any tables, references and figure legends).
The essay should cover in detail (including evidence of having read original research papers) the field of your chosen topic. You are encouraged to include diagrams, cartoons and figures to aid clarity (minimum one, maximum five).
Discussion of original literature should show evidence of critical assessment, giving indications of where strengths and weaknesses lie.
You are welcome to submit the work before the deadline, but we will not be able to provide individual feedback on draft versions.
Structure:
1. Abstract (max 250 words – included in the word count)
2. Review (the main body of the work)
3. Conclusions (a brief section on the importance of this field/topic and what are
the major challenges for the future)
4. References
