Most critical incidents (Tripp, 2011) are not at all dramatic or obvious but are commonplace events that occur routinely in professional practice in education.

What makes them ‘critical’ is that they have caused us to think and reflect at this particular time.

Objective:

Use an established framework for critical incident analysis along with literature, research and theory, to critically analyse and discuss an ‘incident’ relating to teaching and/or learning in primary/early years education practice. The ‘incident’ should stem from personal experience. No person or institution should be identifiable in your work. You can use pseudonyms to ensure their anonymity.

Your CI analysis should focus on you and your practice. This is not in the spirit of one professional inviting another into their classroom/school to provide opportunities for learning.
