Description
Scenario
You are a research assistant at LiveWell Hospital, and your mentor has instructed you to create a data display using online data for epidemiologic research. The research you prepare will be used by your mentor as she participates in LiveWell’s annual Community Health Fair.
Your research will begin with a raw data file and then include the construction of tables, charts, and preliminary assertions on data findings. These assertions on the data will demonstrate the value of data analysis using secondary databases and lay groundwork for the organization’s future data analysis endeavors with the community.
Instructions
You will use a raw data file extracted directly from the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) WONDER data, which includes many measurements critical to the nation’s health. You can read more about CDC WONDER on the CDC website.
NOTE ABOUT THE DATA FILE:
When creating the data file that you will use for this assignment, cancer information was compiled on deaths by the principal site of the cancers, U.S. regions, races, ethnicity, and sex of the deceased. Puerto Rico was not included in this particular data pull. Data over three years’ time, 2007-2009, were aggregated and presented.

Part Two: Analyzing the Data
After successfully completing Part One, you should have a set of data about cancer deaths, organized by types of cancer and sorted by region. Now, you can begin your analysis of the data for the display.
Download and follow the instructions below:
Part Two Instructions_81821
Once the instructions are complete from both Part One and Part Two, you will have a professional data display to present to your mentor, who will be better prepared to meet the organizational plans for a Community Health Fair.
Submit your data display in a Word document, as described in the instructions.
