Gregor’s Character Analysis
Description
After reading Part One of The Metamorphosis and reviewing the Elements of Literature handout, complete the following:
Character: Character plays a pivotal role in a drama, novel, short story and all kinds of narratives. In literature, character reflects the personality of the protagonist (the one around whom most of the action revolves) and other related characters. The method of conveying information about characters in art is called characterization.
Characters can be fictional or based on real, historical entities. They can be human, supernatural, mythical, divine, animal or personifications of an abstraction. There are round characters, flat characters, stereotypical stock characters, etc.
Write a two paragraph analysis of Gregor using at least one quote from Part 1: The Metamorphosis .
Use what you learned about MLA format from Week Two’s link, to try to incorporate MLA guidelines when quoting.
You do not, however, need a Work Cited page.
