Description:
In this problem, you will investigate the U.S. population in 2015 and 2060 and determine three main age categories. You will also provide the results as pie charts. Use a cell reference or a single formula where appropriate in order to receive full credit. Do not copy and paste values or type values, as you will not receive full credit for your answers.

1 Start Excel. Download and open the workbook named:

2 In cell D12, calculate the total change in the projected percentages for both sexes under 18 years. Fill cell D12 down the column to cell D55. Format cells D12:D55 as Number with 2 decimal places.
3 In cell E12, calculate the percentage change in the projected percentages for both sexes under 18 years. Fill cell E12 down the column to cell E55. Format cells E12:E55 as Number with 3 decimal places.
4 In cell F12, refer to the percentage change in the projected percentages for both sexes under 18 years. Fill cell F12 down the column to cell F55. Format cells F12:F55 as Percentage with 1 decimal place.
5 In cell I32, calculate the sum of the three age categories for both sexes that represent the entire U.S. population in 2015. Format cell I32 as Number with 2 decimal places.
6 In cell J32, calculate the sum of the three age categories for both sexes that represent the entire U.S. population in 2060. Format cell J32 as Number with 2 decimal places.
7 In cell H39, determine the first age category for both sexes.
8 In cell I39, determine the percent of the total resident population for the first age category in 2015. Fill cell I39 across to cell J39.
9 In cell H40, determine the second age category for both sexes.
10 In cell I40, determine the percent of the total resident population for the second age category in 2015. Fill cell I40 across to cell J40.
11 In cell H41, determine the third age category for both sexes.
12 In cell I41, determine the percent of the total resident population for the third age category in 2015. Fill cell I41 across to cell J41.
13 In cell H51:N64, insert a Pie Chart to show the percentage of the main three age categories in 2015.
Select range H39:I41. On the Insert tab, click Recommended Charts, and then click Pie. Apply Style 3 on the Design tab. Add a chart title and choose the Above Chart option. Replace Chart Title with Population Breakdown 2015.
14 In cell P51:V64, insert a Pie Chart to show the percentage of the main three age categories in 2060. Select ranges H39:H41 and J39:J41. On the Insert tab, click Recommended Charts, and then click Pie. Apply Style 3 on the Design tab. Add a chart title and choose the Above Chart option. Replace Chart Title with Population Breakdown 2060.
15 In cell I44-J44, determine the demographic group which is growing as a proportion of the entire population over this period. 2
