Goals

To structure an essay as a report on a specific topic.

The student will integrate multiple sources, and ideally multiple forms of sources in order to provide
an in-depth expository essay on their chosen subject.

This is the final formal paper for this course and should therefore be a showcase for the student’s abilities with quoting and researching and also exhibit an appropriate tone and style.

Instructions •

Choose a subject that interests you and write an in-depth report on the subject.

Guidelines:

• Adhere to MLA formatting and documentation guidelines and include a works cited page

• Include at least 3 outside sources

• Minimum of two direct quotes

• Be 1000 words minimum in length

• Use a mixture of summary, paraphrase and direct quote

• Minimal grammar errors

• Avoid casual language, don’t address the audience, don’t use the word “I” anywhere in this essay

• Make sure your writing is a mixture, of opinion, critical thought, and support from outside sources.

• Refer to all the sources that will be posted in weeks 12, 13, and 14 to complete this assignment
