About this Assignment
Current Trends in Computer Science & IT are forever changing. Even for IT professionals, the task of keeping up with trends in technology can seem daunting. There are certain areas of technology that become more sought after than others but as IT professionals you must have a little understanding of all areas.
For example: Database Management, Application Design and AI just to name a few. For this assignment, you will write two essays based on the following prompts, which focus on current topics in Computer Science & IT.
Prompt
Write a short position essay (750-1,000 words) on whether machine learning and AI will have a positive or negative effect on society. The essay should include a for or against position as well as at least three examples to support the learner’s position.
Using Sources
You may refer to the course material for supporting evidence, but you must also use at least three credible, outside sources and cite them using APA format. Please include a mix of both primary and secondary sources, with at least two sources from a scholarly peer-reviewed journal.
Primary sources are first-hand accounts such as interviews, advertisements, speeches, company documents, statements, and press releases published by the company in question.
Secondary sources come from peer-reviewed scholarly journals.
You may use sites like JSTOR and Google Scholar to find articles from these journals. Secondary sources may also come from reputable websites with .gov, .edu, or .org in the domain. (Wikipedia is not a reputable source, though the sources listed in Wikipedia articles may be acceptable.)
