1. The indigenous and black peoples living in the Latin American colonies eventually came to accept their role in the new societies that were established. Do you think this acceptance was more the result of direct domination (hegemony) or rather a consequence of the process of mutual cultural assimilation (transculturation)? Support your argument with reference to the readings.
2.The experience of the conquest was incredibly traumatic for the indigenous peoples of the Americas. The Europeans and the technology they brought with them were like nothing they had ever seen.
