Literature Review
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to; help you develop a deeper understanding of the literature surrounding the topics we have discussed this semester.
Description of the Assignment: This assignment will be in the form of an essay. It should align with APA guidelines for style and format (i.e., cover page, double spaced, leveled headings, page numbers, in-text citations, references, objective voice, etc.).
The following information should be included in your paper:
Introductory Paragraph
Introduce the concept you are writing on
Provide THREE relevant in-text references to why this topic is important (cancer)
Statement of why this area is important to research
Body Paragraphs (A minimum of three)
Each body paragraph should address a certain characteristics that sheds a light on this health issue
A minimum of FIVE different peer-reviewed journal articles are referenced per paragraph (websites will not be accepted as references; unless it is an organization e.g., CDC)
Main Topic (Cancer)
Paragraph #1- Literature on how choices in food, smoking, tanning, etc. can lead to cancer (5+references)
Paragraph #2-Literature on today’s air pollution/overall environment and cancer (5+references)
Paragraph #3-Literature on health disparities (race, gender, socioeconomic status) and cancer (5+references)
Conclusion
Summarize findings
3-5 implications on how this particular health issue will have an impact on your career
