And language is a specialized form of communication that allows for a nearly infinite expression of ideas due to the symbolic and constructive nature of our visual or auditory symbols.

1. University students face frequent challenges: problems to be solved. What are some of the common barriers to problem solving discussed in our textbook (attached), and how can these be overcome? Have you faced a problem recently, and how might you use this week’s lessons to help solve this problem?

3. What distinguishes language from mere communication? Identify at least one critical component of language and discuss it.
4. What are some of the drawbacks to intelligence testing?

Answers should be a minimum of 12 sentences in length, should be well thought out, should show critical thinking about the topic, and should be based on evidence from the readings (with included citations and References from the powerpoint attached!!!!!!).

In your initial post, you should also identify a concept from this week’s lessons that was either interesting or confusing. You should explain the concept in your own words, and you should explain why it was interesting or confusing. (This interesting concept should be about THE AVAILABILITY HEURISTIC)

Answers for the interesting concept should be a minimum of 6 sentences in length.

There should only be 3 citations throughout questions 1 , 2 , 3 and 4 that should ALL come from the textbook powerpoint attached.

Interesting topic should NOT have any citations and be in your own words.
