Whenever appropriate, argue as to why do you think a certain drug mechanism, drug effect, or drug properties are that way.** Use scientifically accurate terminology, not lay terms.
Allosteric modulators. (10 pts total)
a. Compare & contrast orthosteric (NOT orthostatic) and allosteric ligands (mechanism of action, possible functional outcomes of allosteric modulation, safety, etc.) (5)
b. Find an example of an allosteric drug targeting some brain receptor that has been approved for the clinic (FDA-approved drug). Name this drug and describe its mechanism of action. Cite this study. (5)
