Why was Mr. George Floyd (and so many like him) killed by the police? Why does racism exist? Why do other forms of discrimination exist? In your opinion, what are two main reasons for inequality in the United States? Explain your choices. Note that simply listing who is discriminated against is not the correct answer. Think deeper: why are we discriminating and are holding prejudices?
What is it about us humans and about the system we created that may perpetuate inequalities? Why do so many people/groups have to fight so hard to achieve the same civil rights status as caucasians, men, abled people, heterosexuals, etc.? Has the fight for civil rights been won or is there additional work to be done? Will there ever come a time when there is no inequality in the United States? Explain your position.
