The first part of your assignment this week is to write a poem for submission. Your poem should be at least a half page, but it can be longer. You can write in closed form or open form. You have free reign to write what you want, but do consider all the elements of poetry we have studied, and think closely about the structure, word choice, sound, etc in your work. And, be sure to give your poem a title.
After writing your poem, discuss in about 200-300 words the poem’s message. Include who is the speaker? What is the mood? Discuss the structural or stylistic technique you used and why.
