Women and Kitchen culture in Post war Canada.
Class is a mix of history and women studies in Canada. See assignment for instructions. The primary evidence ad is chosen (see week 6 kitchen culture). See historians at work for tips on how to analyze an advertisement.
Discuss how the culture was trying to get women back into the kitchen such as wizard of oz (depicted in the red shoes in ad), how women in the workplace where being encouraged to remove themselves, and how new technologies emerging from the war were being sold.
These are only suggestions though. Chicago is to be done with footnotes and not author date style.
