Assignment Description
Project Proposal (1000-1250 words) written collaboratively by the team. The project needs to have a clearly defined scope and purpose. In addition, any social impact project ought to include the perceptions and inclusion of those most directly affected by it. The proposal needs to explicitly address each of the items in as much detail as possible.
Assignment Requirements
Problem definition – including related issues, subtopics. Though the project maybe local in scope, it must be explored in the broader global context of the issue (DJCG 200.2).
Social Justice Issue Description – How does the selected issue reflect at least one Social Impact pillar and at least one SDG? Which SDG(s) and Social Impact pillar(s) does the project seek to further? Be specific with the relation between the issue and the SDG goals and Social Impact. (DJCG 200.1)
Goals – in general terms, what does the team plan to accomplish by the end of the project? These should be realistic given the timeframe of the project and available resources. It should also be as clearly defined and detailed as possible. Flexibility is also important to allow for the unexpected.
Tasks – What steps need to be taken to complete the project (areas of research, assignment preparation, etc.)? How does each task relate to the overall project goals?
Roles and responsibilities of each team member – What are each team member’s areas of knowledge (majors, experiences, etc.)? Which team members will be responsible for various tasks and activities?
Timeline to facilitate successful project completion
1. What current policies are in place, or have been attempted in the past, to mitigate or resolve the issue at hand?
2. What are the team’s initial questions about the social justice issue?
