Explain that many factors affect retrieval from memory. Describe some of the factors such as meaningfulness, imageability, emotions and mood. Cite and describe research studies that have looked into these factors and made such claims.
Describe the levels of processing theory that explains why we remember meaningful words better and describe the dual-processing theory that explains why concrete words are remembered better.
Next, state that gender differences have been observed with regard to memory.
Describe the study that found males better at spatial memory and the study that found females better at memory for interpersonal and autobiographical events.

Start by saying that memory is considered to be reconstructive. Explain what it means. Explain that this means that memories are not always accurate and the inaccuracy is what is termed false memory.
Define false memory and describe theories that explain false memory.

Describe research done on factors affecting false memory. That is, describe briefly one or two studies and then describe the Bauer et al (2009) study.
