This study will research the current status of curricular Physical Education (P.E) The study will look into the importance of curricular P.E and what is the role and value of it within secondary schools. The main objectives of the study is to look at these 3 things.
1.What is the role and value of curricular Physical Education in schools?
2. What status the subject has and why?
3. what are non specialist teachers views on PE and why are these views held
The structure of the lit review needs to be under these headings in the following order:
Intro: to the chapter – outline what is to come
Definitional clarifications – what is Physical Education, what is Sport, what is Physical Activity, what is Fundamental Movement Skills and what is Physical Literacy.
Goals and Benefits of PE: outline the aims of PE and the benefits of PE
Status of PE: Determine the status of PE and establish why it has this status – Please only talk about PE in Secondary schools in the UK and Northern Ireland.
