Think of the skill or competency you would like to assess, such as writing, reading, computation, information literacy, etc. For functions, consider satisfaction levels from key partners, compliance results, audit results, wait times, or other measures for improvement.
What are the outcomes for your project? These are the skills you want your students to learn, or for functions, these are the key performance indicators you want to examine for your department.
Write 4-10 outcomes using Bloom’s taxonomy levels.
Provide benchmarks for your outcomes:
80% of students will write at proficiency levels or higher or;
75% of students will score 70% or higher on a test or;
50% of students will master on a rubric at the satisfactory level or higher based on a skill or;
60% of respondents will indicate a satisfactory level of service with financial aid interactions or;
70% of applications will be processed within 24 hours of receipt.
