Part 1 of essay: Produce a bibliography by selecting a critical resource on the set texts with an eye to how they shed light on the question, i.e. on whether modernism sought to destroy and then remake the world. The set texts are J. M. Synge, The Playboy of the Western World; Ford Madox Ford, The Good Soldier; Katherine Mansfield, Selected Short Stories.
Part 2 to essay: You are required in the first instance to respond to a proposition: ‘Modernism sought to destroy and then remake the world’ within the context of one of the set texts.
