National Intelligence Manager Teams are intended to be a unifying and integrating force for national intelligence analysis, collection, plans, and operations across Intelligence disciplines and functions. This management process provides integrated solutions to address major IC mission and enterprise opportunities, challenges, and gaps.
The National Intelligence Manager (NIM) process was established to leverage IC-wide expertise, respond timely to policymaker requirements, identify knowledge shortfalls, and efficiently manage collection and analysis. It is also intended to expeditiously manage tasks and resources against standing and contingency national security priorities. Each NIM identifies near-term intelligence priorities, and oversees and integrates all aspects of the IC’s collection, analytic, and counterintelligence efforts for their region or functional area of specialty.
