Description
In this first essay assignment, you are asked to choose one of the metaphors/images from Plato’s Republic and speak to its importance.
As per the syllabus, primary text to be used only; secondary sources strictly forbidden. The essay must follow the following structure and organization:
ARGUMENT #1:
Explain & expand your ideas about the metaphor and the work that it is doing in the Republic.
ARGUMENT #2:
Explain how the metaphor illuminates Justice in the city.
ARGUMENT #3:
Explain how the metaphor illuminates Justice in the soul.
COUNTER the COUNTER:
Synthesize the ideas and demonstrate how your argument is superior.
