Reflect upon your results from the mid project peer assessment and describe in your report how you have sought to utilise your strengths that were identified and what strategies you have adopted to address the areas for improvement identified.

Objective

To demonstrate that you can reflect upon your skills and performance in order to support your personal development and the group’s performance.
Personal development competencies

The Group Project provides an opportunity for you to develop certain skills or competencies that you will find important in your professional careers:
Communications (Written)
Communications (Spoken)
Time management
Team work
Problem solving
Project management
Critical evaluation

Initial self assessment

In the first week of the project, reflect upon and assess your competence for three skills identified in the skills matrix in Table 1 using the competency tables provided in Tables 2 and 3. One of the skills selected must be ‘Team Work’.

For each skill, write one or more SMART objectives that you will try to achieve during the project.
Specific define exactly what you are aiming for
Measurable how are you going to measure success?
Achievable yet stretching and challenging
Relevant is it relevant to the team, project or your individual goals?
Time bound agree specific review date and completion time

Mid project peer review assessment

At the mid-way point through your project, you will be asked to complete a peer review assessment of your colleagues who are working with you on your group project and also assess yourself. Please use the link on the Group Project canvas to access the peer assessment survey which will be open for 5 days only from the date given on the submission timeline. The data entered will be collated and provided to selected staff members. You will then be requested to attend a brief meeting with a specific staff member to discuss the peer review. Please note you will not have access at any point to the written comments from the review, instead you will have a discussion with a staff member about the areas identified as your strengths and those areas for improvement.
Use the feedback you receive to develop your team working skills during the remainder of the group project. You will be required to reflect and report on how you have used the peer review data to the benefit of yourself and the group.
Final written reflective assessment

During, but specifically at the conclusion of the project, reflect on your performance in each of the skills you have selected at the beginning of the project and reassess your level of competence for each skill providing evidence to support your assessment. Write a report where you present the results of your competency assessment, the objectives that you set for yourself and discuss the degree to which you have achieved your objectives. Judge your own performance on the project both as an individual and a team member, describing what went well and what didn’t. If you were to undertake the project again what would you do differently?

Reflect upon your results from the mid project peer assessment and describe in your report how you have sought to utilise your strengths that were identified and what strategies you have adopted to address the areas for improvement identified.

Report

The report should be no more than 4 sides of A4 in length (12pt Times New Roman or 11pt Arial), excluding references.
Principal assessment criterion

Evidence of the ability to self-analyse, set appropriate objectives and reflect. Marks will be awarded on the basis of how well the student has reflected upon their personal development through the group project, demonstrating how they have used objective setting and competency tables to measure their development, and how they have used the results from the peer review to enhance their personal performance. It is the quality of the critical analysis and the examples given in support of that critique which we are marking, not the competency rank achieved at the end of the Group Project.
