Choose a medical anthropology-related topic. Research this topic in secondary source scholarly literature.
Include in the paper at least two case studies/detailed ethnographic examples about your chosen topic in different cultures or national contexts. The goal is for you to learn as much as possible about the topic you select; read broadly across the anthropological and related literatures about your topic; and see how it is manifested in different parts of the world in cross-cultural
comparison.
Write a research paper on a topic relating to medical anthropology. The Research paper should include a significant analysis and/or theoretical
framework. The paper can focus on a single culture or place or be comparative with another culture.
You are welcome to use headers to delineate sections of your paper. Your paper will be evaluated on the clarity of your argument, the clarity, level of detail, and depth of analysis of the topic and ethnographic examples presented, and how they tie to your argument.
