The aim of this module is to build on your prior learning to gain further knowledge and skills in working in partnership with people. You will continue to develop clinical decision making in relation to the management of long term, multiple and / or complex conditions. Scenario for MH Self-Management 

Bethany is 25yrs old she is currently in hospital due to a breakdown in relationship and an attempt to end her life. She has had numerous admissions to hospital over the past 3 years.
She is very angry about being in hospital again, she does not agree with her diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder and does not want help for this. She feels that everyone is interfering with her life.

Bethany takes mediation while in hospital as it makes her feel calm but historically on discharge chaotically takes her medication using cannabis and alcohol instead.
Bethany dropped out of Uni she was hoping to be a teacher. She loves animals and did volunteer as a guide dog walker. She has a fragmented relationships with her parents, but is close to her older brother. She often has ‘friends of the moment’ and her latest best friend is Mel another patient on the ward.
