Cultural Diversity in Health Care
Description
Students should answer the following three questions. They are based on the questions asked of the participants in the actual research study:
Research Questions
What are the perceived levels of cultural awareness, knowledge, skill, you have when encountering patients and families from diverse populations at your clinical site?
What level of cultural diversity education and training have your received in your formal education and/or provided by your place of employment? Do your feel that is was adequate and that you are comfortable providing care to theses diverse populations?
Assessing yourself, do you feel there is a relationship between your own demographic variables (age, years licensed, highest nursing degree, and self-identified race or ethnicity) and your perceived level of cultural awareness, knowledge, skill, and comfort caring for patients and families from diverse populations in a healthcare setting?
