Discussion Forum 1: What does it take to be a “good” parent? – 20 points

On page 26 of your Brooks textbook there is a discussion of Lykken’s argument that a parenting license should be required.
Read this carefully and then respond to some or all of the following:
What is your opinion of Lykken’s argument? (Note: You can agree or disagree with all or just part of Lykken’s argument and/or license requirements).
While you may not agree with all or any of Lykken’s arguments, the majority of people agree that not everyone is an equally good parent.
In your opinion, what are the qualities, characteristics, life situations that you feel are necessary to be a “good” parent.
What are some additional qualities, characteristics, life situations that may not be necessary, but that you feel are beneficial or make it easier to be a “good” parent?
