As you read in your textbook, music shifts quickly in the 20th century. Many different musical styles and types of music emerge at this time and continuing into the present (for example, Impressionism, Expressionism, American music, types of Jazz, or Music for Stage or Screen).
1) Considering Parts 7, 8 or 9 of your textbook, which ONE of the styles of music discussed in those three sections of your textbook (as noted above) appeals to you more than the others? Identify a particular musical work illustrating your preferred musical style and explain your reasons for your preference.
2) Locate a second work by the same composer of your preferred musical style (do a little research on Spotify or on YouTube) and share that with your classmates. Briefly discuss whether that second work has similar or different characteristics to your first selected work. Do you like it as well or not? Why?
