Elements of a Curriculum Framework include a philosophy of education (worldview position), and philosophies of teaching (instruction) and learning (the meaning of and taxonomy for knowing). This week’s application assignment centers upon a philosophy of teaching. You will write a philosophy of instruction (teaching) that is no longer than 2.5 to 3.0 double spaced pages. Longer is not better. Less is better if you can cover everything with fewer words.
Include:
The theoretical basis for teaching within your institution is identified. Your philosophy should refer to current educational learning theories that are reflected in your school’s practices.
Should answer the questions:
How does the school define learning?
When has learning occurred?
How does this relate to the school’s mission and vision?
A biblical perspective or biblical support for the theoretical basis(your choice from above) was presentedYour philosophy would thus be biblically integrated. As an alternative you may start with a biblical philosophy and then provide alignment with or integrate it with current learning theories or “best practice”.
Should answer the questions:
What is the biblical meaning of to know or to learn
In what way or ways does a biblical philosophy align with current learning theory or best practices? Is there compatibility or alignment?
The role or responsibility of the teacher.

What are the responsibilities of the teacher?
The role or responsibility of the student.

What is the role of the student during instruction?
Instructional methods (these might be included in the previous two sections- teacher and student).

What instructional methods should be used?
The nature of the instructional environment.

Does the environment have a role in instruction? What role does it play?
