1. Was Nat Turner a hero or a madman? Given the conditions of slavery we saw in class, should we consider him a man fighting for justice or a criminal? Make your case.
2. Compare and contrast the major conceptual differences between Nationalism and Integrationism as articulated by James Cone in Martin & Malcolm & America.

i. Find original quotes from Martin Luther King, Jr. that is representative of both ideological positions.
ii. Articulate which ideology King most adhered to. (HINT: This is a bit of a trick question.)
3. List and describe all five of King’s to “A Call for Unity.” (HINT: He does this in “A Letter from a Birmingham Jail”.)
