Task 4
Understand the role of the early years practitioner when promoting child development from birth to seven years.
Task 4.1.
Produce a written document that discusses the role of an early years practitioner when promoting child development in relation to all of the following key factors:
• Cognitive development
• Speech, language, and communication development
• Physical development
• Social and emotional development.
Task 4.2.
Evaluate in a written document the role of the early years practitioner in supporting children’s holistic development.
Task 4.3.
Analyse how working in partnership supports the following:
• Enhances children’s learning and development
• Values parents/carers’ contributions.
You must include relevant research sources, bibliography UK based only (You need to plan an activity for each of the above. Use the activity sheets provided in the appendix).
Task 5
Understand how to plan opportunities for children’s learning and development from birth to five years.
Task 5.1.
Produce activity plans to show play opportunities for children from birth to five years in relation to all the key development areas identified below:
• Cognitive development
• Speech, language, and communication development
• Physical development
• Social and emotional development.
You will not be required to undertake these activities, however you must demonstrate your knowledge and understanding gained during this unit in how to plan an activity to see the area of development.
Reference to sources, research and EYFS milestones development standards will support your answer.
