Sub-populations within a population
Description
Write a paper in which you explore an emerging sub-population within the older adult age group. This sub-population may include aging individuals with intellectual disabilities, aging adults living on the streets, aging individuals who are incarcerated, as well as those aging with HIV/AIDs.
Within this paper you will address: who is included in this sub-population (e.g., ages, living situations); the issues of aging within this sub-population; issues related to housing this sub-population; how nurses can intervene with individuals within this sub-population; as well as larger system implications (e.g., housing, palliative care).
Before you begin Assignment 4, discuss your selected topic with your tutor.
Must be eight to ten pages in length; not to exceed ten pages, excluding title page, references, and appendices;be typed, double–spaced, single-sided, with margins of 2.5 cm on all sides;follow the style guidelines found in the 7th edition of the APA Publication Manual; and include a minimum of five journal references to provide evidence of application of theory.
Assignment will be marked according to the following grading criteria:
Sub-population described
Literature review presented (including a minimum of five journal articles).
Discussion of issues faced by this sub-population, including health status and challenges to receiving health care; housing and any other pertinent issues.
Discussion which includes how nurses can intervene with this sub-population, as well as suggested changes to the health care system in order to assist this sub-population.
Scholarly writing style:
clarity, logical development, cohesion and tone
APA format, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and page length
