You are riding the elevator with the Chairman of the Board of the largest integrated health delivery provider and financing network (IDN) in the region. She knows that you are an experienced manager in the information technology organization who knows how to use technology in a strategic way.
While waiting for the elevator, the two of you were discussing the increased cost pressures associated with changing venues of care in the future and the challenges facing your integrated delivery health system including reducing admissions to emergency rooms, caring for consumers using virtual delivery models like e-Health and telehealth in their homes, and urgent care offerings.
