IBC Entering Foreign Markets
For each assessed group presentation, your group will be allocated a particular case study which will be based on a specific chapter topic from the GBT Hill textbook.
Your prime focus should be to analyse and evaluate the performance of the selected business in the case study, with regard to the specific topic, e.g. cultural differences, foreign direct investment etc.
As per the “allocation of marks” section later, 40% of presentation marks is for application of theory and concepts, and 40% is for analysis of the case study, 20% of marks relate to the presentation itself and how well this was delivered.
In your analysis of your case studies some of the following themes could be explored to help with your analysis:
Analyse the factors influencing the development of international business and the role of international business in shaping trends in the international economy.
Analyse the impact of multinational company decisions on host and home countries.
Assess the foreign investment decisions of international business in terms of their aims and the structuring and evaluation of their options.
Understand and appreciate the limitations of the theories of trade, foreign exchange markets and direct foreign investment.
