Assignment Instructions
As a business consultant, you have been asked to produce a 1,500-word report
describing the disruptive aspects of the experience economy on a particular part of
the tourism, hospitality, or events sectors.
The report should describe how designing services for customers has changed as a
result and provide recommendations for entrepreneurs, who are potentially starting a
new business venture.
1. Your report you should clarify and explain which part of the tourism, hospitality,
or events sector you are focusing on.
2. Your analysis must be underpinned by supporting academic evidence, which is
fully referenced at the end in a bibliography.
3. You must integrate and apply relevant ideas and concepts from the academic
literature in your report, which should include a contrast between different theoretical
perspectives.
4. Your report must contain a final summary that reiterates and synthesises the
principal impacts of the issues you have highlighted and provide recommendations.
Additionally
• You must include the assessment front sheet.
• All work must be word processed (Font size 12) and double-spaced.
• The page orientation should be ‘portrait’ and the layout ‘justified’.
• Margins on both sides of the page should be no less than 2.5 cm.
• Pages should be numbered.
• Only your student number should appear on the script.

Extenuating Circumstances are circumstances which:
• impair your examination performance prevent you from attending examinations
or other types of assessment, or
• prevent you from submitting coursework or other assessed work by the
scheduled deadline date, or within 24 hours of the deadline date
Such circumstances rarely occur and would normally be:
• unforeseeable – in that you could have no prior knowledge of the event
concerned, and
• unpreventable – in that you could do nothing reasonably in your power to
prevent such an event, and
• expected to have a serious impact on performance
