Critical Memoir
During this course, we have delved into the ways that written expression can be used as a tool for social change. It is my belief that in order to be a thoughtful teacher who can connect with students, you must first be able to connect with yourself.
The critical memoir is an opportunity for you to make sense of your educational experiences, either as a teacher or a student, by looking at them with a critical lens. For this assignment, you will be asked to reflect upon your own experience in the education system.
Drawing on the research we have read regarding diverse identity markers, including ability, race, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status,write a memoir that aligns your experiences.
The purpose of this is to connect yourself with the academic research that exists in a 10 – 12 page paper. You are expected to use no less than three academic sources.
While there are certain criteria for this assignment, it is also one in which you are invited to apply creative writing expression.
The purpose of this paper is to examine social awareness in the context of education, development, and growth. You will be asked to critically analyse the nature of your development and growth in the context of education.
Write a 10-12 page paper on your own educational journey exploring your individual social identity using an autobiographical lens.Describe your memories and thoughts about how you came to see yourself as a social being.
