Research Essay Assignment (30%)
After successfully completing this assignment, you will be able to:
1. Write texts typical of first-year college courses, of 450–700 words, with reasonable accuracy, given a lot of time to edit.
2. Cite sources appropriately in APA style.
3. Demonstrate professionalism when collaborating with others and/or working autonomously.
Instructions:
Following a step-by-step process, you will write a 500–1000-word 5-paragraph research essay using what you have learned about socially responsible businesses and APA style (quoting, paraphrasing, referencing, and formatting).
1. Select only one of the following areas of social responsibility: environment, customers, employees, or investors.
2. Once you have selected an area of interest, research and select three companies from the list below. Try to find companies that are in similar industries such as three clothing companies or three food companies.
STEP 1: Research Proposal Wiki (10%)
Describe your research report topic and provide 6 credible sources you want to use.
STEP 2: Peer Review (bonus 5%)
Review another student’s essay and have your essay reviewed.
Step 3: Research Essay (20%)
Write and submit your final research essay.
