Description
Assess the scientific literature for trends in prescribing opioids in the UK and the US only, specifically focusing on the number of opioid prescriptions, the effect of long-term opioid therapy, and examining the factors that influence opioid prescribing levels in the treatment of pain.
This paper will also look at the prevalence of opioid addiction and opioid-related deaths. The review will not focus on any specific class of opioids or the use of opioids in the treatment of specific diseases.
