You are required to develop a strategic management project tailored to the needs in an oil and gas organisation/firm.
You may select the topic of the strategic management report from the examples given below:

To meet the requirements of this task, you must:
Develop the business case for a strategic management project.
Impacts and consequences of project.
Articulation of problem or opportunity.
Scope and schedule of project.
Development of project aims/objectives (e.g. Business viability, value-add proposition, stakeholder mapping, timeframe, associated resources, risk identification and mitigation, contingency, and deliverables).
Alignment to strategic goals of organisation.
Compliance with regulatory and legal frameworks (e.g. ethics, sustainability).
Project governance and reporting structures.
Propose a research design to inform the direction of the strategic management project. Summarise how you intend to include all the points mentioned below.
This should be specific to your chosen research aim and objectives, justifying your proposed research.
Selection of research strategy.
Research methods.
Selection of tools and techniques.
Data collection.
Sampling. Data analysis.
Timeframes.

The strategic management project may be presented in the format of your choice.
TASK:2
You are required to write a project report based on the implementation of the strategic management project developed in Task 1.
The project report must be presented in TWO (2) sections:
The outcomes of the strategic management project
You are required to report on the outcomes of the strategic management project using a formal reporting structure which will include:
Executive summary
Introduction and background
Research design
Data collection and analysis
Findings and recommendations
Scope of project report
The leadership skills and behaviours used to conduct the strategic management project
You are required to critically reflect on the leadership skills and behaviours used to conduct the strategic management project.
The report should include reference to leadership theories and methods of reflective practice.

The project report must be presented using a formal reporting structure as detailed above.
The project must include sub-headings.
Extracts of data may be used embedded in the document or presented in an appendix.
The scope of the project report must be clearly stated. If the project is of a long-term nature it would be acceptable for the project report to cover a specific stage/time-period of the project.
