Create and submit a narrated power point that does the following:
Select the work of ONE of the philosophers covered from Descartes to de Beauvoir. Research the work of a philosopher who is works on the same topic or philosophical approach.
The second philosopher must be either a Black, Indigenous, Person of colour and / or a woman. Produce a diagrammatic, illustrative commentary on both works, showing you have carefully evaluated them.
This is not an essay, rather it should be a series of different pieces united by a common theme. You can include written work, diagrams, posters, comparisons, videos you make, YouTube videos (properly referenced), illustrations and sound recordings. You have a maximum of 8 slides and 15 minutes of recorded narration.
An illustration of their work means that you find creative ways to outline their key ideas, themes, approaches or theory – it is the descriptive part of the task. A commentary is the analysis part.
In the commentary, you need to select key parts and engage with them. Where did they come from, what are they responding to, what do they seek to achieve and how convinced are you by them and why?
A key feature of the commentary should be some consideration on why the scholar of colour and / or woman is not featured so prominently.
