You are required to reflect upon and critically analyse your own performance on carrying out a 1 clinical skill from Annex B of your Practice document.
To facilitate this analysis it is suggested that you identify one to two key issues emerging from undertaking the procedure, these must address learning outcomes and reflect the core themes above.
You are required to use a reflective model to structure your assignment.
You are also required to offer a critical rationale for your choice of reflective model.
Questions to probe thinking:
Pre-procedure
: What patient factors have you considered in planning the procedure and why? How did you propose to carry out this procedure and why?
Post-procedure
: Did anything happen during the procedure that caused you to modify your plan for the procedure? What and why? What patient factors did you consider and why?
What ethical and legal issues did you need to consider, before, during and after completion of the procedure
What clinical procedures and guidelines did you need to consider? Where is your evidence for best practice?
For Level 7 writing you need to show that you can apply theory to practice, demonstrating critical analysis and thinking.
