Diagnostic Essay: Expressing an opinion
This diagnostic essay will be used to determine the overall skill level of the class, so spend some time on this, and demonstrate what you are capable of achieving.
In an effectively composed essay, express your opinion about the following:
Some people go right on to college after high school; others take a year or more off to work or travel. Which do you think is the better choice? State your position and support it with specific reasons and examples.
Be sure to provide plenty of evidence to support your opinion. Your paper should be 2-3 pages in length, not counting the title and reference pages, and conform to APA guidelines in the CSU Global Writing Center.
Include at least two scholarly references in addition to the course textbook. The CSU Global Library is a good place to find these references.
