Assignment :
Watch 30-minutes of a television newscast. Write down a table of contents that shows each story that is presented and the time spent (in seconds and minutes) on each story.
Write a 2 page typed report (12pt. font) in which you evaluate the choice of stories the newscast presented, and the overall news value in terms of content and quality.
Use the tools of critical thinking you have learned in this class and remember that a good critical thinker will be able to spot problems, find fallacies, and generally find FAULT with what they see.
Any editing tactics such as music and lighting, graphics etc should be noted if they attempt to manipulate the viewers experience. Do include the name of the newscast, network, time and date.
