For this assignment, you must reflect on the Vedanta belief that atman is Brahman. If this is the main tenant of the Hindu religion, how might this play into a greater tolerance among people from different castes? Along with reflecting on the caste system in India, you should also discuss Isabel Wilkerson’s insights into the caste system in place in America.
How can the principle that atman is Brahman lead to a more compassionate stance toward Dalits/untouchables as well as African Americans?
