ASSIGNMENT:
Construct a 10-15 minute PowerPoint presentation on a disorder within your assigned system. To complete the assignment, you will create the scenario based on how the alteration typically presents.
Presentation will include:
1. Introduction of scenario: a. Example: John Smith, 65-year-old male presents to the ED with complaints of increased shortness of breath even after increasing his home oxygen from 2 to 5 liters. Mr. Smith has a history of smoking, COPD, home oxygen, and hypertension. ED providers suspect John is experiencing Acute on Chronic COPD exacerbation.
2. Comprehensive description of the chief complaint, including presenting signs and symptoms.
3. Interpretation of the pathophysiology and clinical manifestations related to the disease process; differentiate between adults and children.
4. Explanation of the common labs and diagnostic studies used in identification and diagnosis of the problem.
