1. What is the hypothesis of your plant competition experiment?
● To test if instraspecifc competition is seen in Brassica rapa, which will affect the
survival shift in height due to seed density among the pots.
2. State your treatment and what the levels are, and the response variables that you will analyze at the end of the experiment.
● Independent variables are full spectrum light and water
● Dependent variables are growth and biomass
3. For the response variables, write out your predictions based on your hypothesis.
● predict the pot with more seeds will have less chance of successful growth due
to the compact space and competition. The pot with 2 seeds may show the most
growth in height, and more biomass due to low seed density.
4. What controlled variables will need to be kept constant for each replicate?
● The amount of light will need to be kept constant for each pot.
