Working and outline for your essay on the Reading Europe
Include a working thesis statement that says something about all three works—Hamlet, The Return of Martin Guerre, and the adaptation of either that you’ve chosen.
It should be possible to put your working thesis statement into the formula “By looking at [some aspect or some of these texts], we can see [a debatable proposition about that theme], which casual readers don’t see; this is important because .” For instance, “By looking at the way personal identity is imagined in Hamlet, The Return of Martin Guerre, and the 2018 film Ophelia, we can see how radically different the realities of male and female characters are in all three works; this is important because it shows how differences of gender were profound among all social classes, from peasants to royals, throughout European history.”
List at least one major point you intend to make in support of the thesis about each work, tying it to a specific passage or scene that is cited or described very specifically in the file.
Present those points in a logical order so that one leads to the next
