Discussion topic for Chapter 9: Motivation and Emotion

Option 1: Do you find yourself making unusually healthy or unhealthy food choices while studying? What influences these choices? What is one thing you can do to change bad eating habits?
Option 2: Why might it be difficult to track the prevalence of same-sex sexual activity or homosexuality in a survey? Should sexual orientation be defined by behavior, desire, self-identification, or some combination of these three? What if someone is a virgin – do they have a sexual orientation?
Option 3: Do you find it easy or difficult to read the emotions of others? Does that ability change when someone is of the same culture as you? A different culture? Why might that be?
