Types of Standards
Chapter 22 focuses on standard languages. Many different types of standards of importance are available to different aspects of health informatics. Review the following websites, and make a list of the different types of standards you were able to identify in addition to standard languages:

Health Level Seven Standard
Exploring a variety of standards is one of the ways to gain an overview of the standards used in healthcare informatics. Health Level Seven (HL7) standard is an example of a set of communications rules that define the ways by which applications exchange data. Complete an Internet search on HL7 standards, and review your results to discover
ways in which the HL7 standard is applied. Identify one or two areas where healthcare suppliers and customers use the HL7 standard.
